The DEMOCRACY AMBASSADORS PROGRAM is a grassroots initiative designed to empower individuals to become advocates for civic engagement and champions of fair democratic practices within their communities.
This comprehensive program equips participants with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to drive positive change and foster a strong culture of civic participation.
ambassador responsibilities
- Attend and complete the Fair Count Democracy Academy training program, learning best practices for community organizing.
- Acquire skills in relational organizing techniques with a focus on engaging rural communities.
- Collaborate and contribute to research in an effort to increase voter education, turnout, and civic participation in priority communities.
- Act to ensure effective communication and representation of community interests on behalf of Fair Count.
- Complete a group capstone project.
qualifications
- Familiarity with or willingness to learn about elections, census data collection, and redistricting processes in Georgia and Mississippi.
- Passion for civic engagement, democratic principles, and community empowerment.
- Ability to effectively engage diverse audiences.
- Public speaking and presentation skills.
- Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
- Comfortable using digital communication tools.
- Must be 18+.
COMMITMENT AND SCHEDULE
5 hours per week over a 7- or 12-week period
Available cycles: September–November (7 weeks) • January–March (12 weeks) • June–August (12 weeks)
